Get your Naked look!
After hearing so much raves on the Naked Palette by Urban
Decay, I decided to get one myself. I supposed
the most tackle part is to decide on buying Naked 1 or Naked 2.
Naked 1 palette comes with a miniature original eye primer
lotion (3.7ml). I was very impressed at the lasting power, this did made my eye
shadow stayed whole day until I took it off. It helps to enhance the eye shadow
by creating a fuller look too.
Virgin (a pale, slightly shimmery pink) makes a great
highlight/inner corner colour.
Sin (a slightly darker, metallic rose) is a great natural color to use on your lids for soft looks.
Sin (a slightly darker, metallic rose) is a great natural color to use on your lids for soft looks.
Sidecar (a glittery taupe) is quite beautiful, but the
amount of glitter fallout puts me off of using it much.
Buck (a matte nutty brown) is the crease complement for
Naked, and is a good brow colour for most.
Half Baked (a bright, metallic gold) is absolutely lovely on
the lid, and can be used for both daytime and nighttime looks.
Smog (a gorgeous burnt, shimmery, deep gold) is my absolute
favorite colour in this palette. I use it on the lid almost daily, alone.
Darkhorse (a dark greenish-brown with gold flecks) is a
lovely crease colour.
Toasted (a dark, metallic purplish pink) is a great sultry
lid colour to use in both light and dark looks.
Hustle (a dark shimmery reddish-purple) is a wonderful
crease colour and works very well with every colour in the palette.
Creep (a glittery black) is a great black to have, although
I could do without the glitter in this one. It's not as bad as Sidecar though,
the glitter stays on your lids.
Gunmetal (a metallic silver) is an absolute must-have when
creating smokey eyes, a true shadow gem!
Naked (a matte, pale beige) is the exact colour of my lids
and is good for no-makeup looks.
Now.. Sequel to the best- selling palette - The Naked 2!
The double ended brush that comes with the palette is fabulous.
I am falling in love with this brush! It applies the shadow perfectly, is easy
to control, and stores perfectly in the palette tray. I'm definitely thrilled
that the palette came with its own brush, because it saves me from having to
travel with a bunch of loose brushes of my own.
Comparison Overview
1. Packaging: The original Naked palette is in a velour
cardboard palette with magnets that secure it. It has a small mirror on the
inside. Naked 2 comes in a hard case that closes with a clasp. It has a much
bigger mirror inside. In terms of packaging, Naked 2 is clearly superior.
2. Complementary items: Naked comes with a synthetic brush
and a mini Urban Decay primer potion. I absolutely love the brush that comes
with the Naked palette. The primer potion is really helpful in making your eye
shadow last and I recommend the primer potion highly! Naked 2 comes with a dual
sided brush and a mini lip junkie in Naked. The shadow brush on the dual sided
brush is smaller than the shadow brush in the original Naked palette.
Nevertheless, it is more useful to have a dual sided brush as you can use the
different end for applying different shades. Personally I would recommend using
an angle brush and a smaller rounded tip for applying eye shadow.
3. Colors: Naked have a range of textures: everything from
glitter to shimmer to matte. While Naked 2 can let you achieve lots of neutral
looks, smoky dramatic eyes, and everything in between. As you can see from the
picture as above, Naked focuses more on earth tone colors and neutral shades
while Naked 2 diversified slightly to gold and shimmering shades, which can
complements many type of skin tones.
In a nutshell, I would suggest going for Naked 2 as the
colors inside can be used for daily wear or party looks. The casing also looks much prettier as
compared to Naked and it is easier to maintain too! The casing for Naked is
definitely not for ladies who doesn't have the habits to keep their makeup kit
clean as it will catch dirt easier due to the material of the casing.
